“There is no doubt whatever about the influence of architecture and structure upon human character and action. We make our buildings and afterwards they make us. They regulate the course of our lives.” Winston Churchill, addressing the English Architectural Association, 1924
Rowe Baetens Architecture is a design focused practice manifesting residential and specialist commercial projects. The firm’s ethos focuses on the enduring qualities of refinement and simplicity, leading to works characterised by clarity, the tactile use of materials, and the interplay of volume, light and shadow.
We seek a candidate who is interested in being part of an elite team of highly motivated and specialised individuals producing outstanding work of the highest quality and aesthetic. Our aim is to astutely observe and correspondingly develop individual appropriate design solutions. By a process of ongoing critique, our design solutions evolve with refinement, meeting the new emerging needs of our clients.
We seek to employ a candidate who is willing to challenge convention, to research practice and materials and to apply that research to deliver outstanding design that will stand the test of time. The candidate will be inquisitive, thoughtful and sensitive. As a team we work with intensity, with conviction and with absolute thoroughness to unravel the most appropriate design solution. The ideal candidate will have NZ experience and be a proficient user of ArchiCAD. It is essential to have a good understanding of NZ Building Code, NZS3604 and exemplar inter-personal skills, as communication is a crucial component of the role.

14. Site involvement
We are looking for an intelligent and dedicated team member who will be willing to grow, develop and achieve with us for many years into the future.
